WE HAVE A CLEAR VISION
We passionately strive for implementing governance structures web3 offers into real-word applications. We believe that the highest quality outcome results from ambitious people possessing the space to implement their own visions. Therefore, this event framework allows for a range of modules that web3 enthusiasts can implement as an add-on. As a first step towards decentralization of events, Web3Connect builds a collaborative, flat-hierarchy platform across academic blockchains. We intend to connect the web3 space across academia to mutually offer the accumulated resources. We do not tolerate centralization through greed. We start centralized for efficiency and feasibility, but work towards decentralization with heart. You share a similar mindset and want to get involved or take on responsibility? Contact us!

General Event
The primary goal of the event is to create more intentional connections between academia and
industry. To achieve this goal, the event will proceed in three phases: Competition, Intentional
Connections, and Conference. Given sufficient sponsorship, these three phases will be scheduled
over three days, with one phase each day.
It should be noted that establishing a framework for an event of this nature involves both
complexity and fluidity. During the process of creating the event, we will collect feedback from all
stakeholders to improve our concept and incorporate the needs of all sponsors and contributors.
General Competition
Projects will pitch their idea having incorporated feedback from the review phase. After technical
and evaluative questions, sponsors and jurors will be able to evaluate certain criteria and
submit a rating in different categories. The rankings will be weighted appropriately and incorporated
into a final assessment for each track. Prize money is distributed to winners and the
resulting ranking provides context for the following sponsor-managed funding phase.
We are currently contemplating a competition framework that involves a peer-review code challenge.
The competition strives to elevate projects with the highest quality code which is why
a peer-review element might allow for more rigorous code assessments. We will make final
determinations concerning the competition format at a later date.
General Intentional Connections
In this phase, projects and sponsors are meaningfully connected. Our matching system will
suggest a meeting schedule for each sponsor based on their submitted goals and needs. In
connecting sponsors and teams, we seek to provide projects with the resources needed to realistically
continue development. As it stands, sponsors will receive varying levels of insights into
the details and quality assessments of projects. To expediently connect projects and sponsors,
Platinum and Gold Sponsors will receive a handout which highlights projects of interest.
Sponsors can then select their favorite project(s) and schedule on-site meetings with teams.
Platinum and Gold Sponsors will also have priority in team scheduling. Once the competition
and funding phases have concluded, the conference will function as a platform for teams and
speakers to present as well as an opportunity for web3 enthusiasts to connect.
General Conference
The conference day proceeds with speakers and networking opportunities. Additionally, the
best teams from each track will have the opportunity to present their projects and discuss their
experiences. Teams and sponsors who connected on the first and second days of the event will be
able to continue conversing with one another. Certain sponsors (i.e. Silver, Gold, and Platinum
Sponsors) will have their own event desks during the conference. Additionally, depending on
budget and location, meeting rooms will be available to sponsors for further meetings.
